Summary Muslim b. ìAmr, the sender of this letter, also wrote letter 26 which deals with commercial matters. Muslim seems to have been a colleague of ìAbd All��h in commercial and possibly also administrative matters. The letter contains some elaborate blessings at the beginning of the letter and also uses a more extensive final blessing than the other letters in the corpus.

Condition Light brown papyrus. The original cutting lines have been preserved on all four sides. There are several small holes in the papyrus along a vertical folding line which have caused minimal damage to the text. Recto is written in black ink with a thick pen perpendicular to the fibers, Verso is written parallel to the fibers.

Hands The letter is carefully executed in a script that shows many exaggerated and labored features of 1st/2nd-7th/8th century script. D��l bends backwards at the top (l. 2 asìad; l. 3 aìmadu; l. 7 dh��lika); final mim has a short tale (l.1 bi-sm; rahim; l.2 muslim; l. 6 umm). There are some diacritical dots.

Recto: ;1. In the name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful. ;2. From Muslim b. ìAmr to ìAbd All��h b. Asìad. Peace be upon you ;3. and I praise for you [God besides Whom] there is no god but He. Further, and we ask ;4. God to cover us and you with His beneficence and that He makes us enter and you ;5. through His mercy into paradise. Take care, may God be pleased with you, to register to our credit the dues ;6. that the shepherd owes. Then send it with ìAfif, the freedman of Umm Habib ;7. and do not delay this, may God ameliorate you. Then write to me, the day you will leave for ;8.
